Service Description
Lip blush tattooing is a cosmetic enhancement which adds a flush of color, corrects asymmetry, and gives definition and life back to the lips. This treatment delivers a natural lip tint or watercolor effect once fully healed and gives the illusion of fullness by redefining lip borders. This service is a two-step process and typically lasts 2-3 years. Pigment shade is customized for each client and may be color matched to resemble your favorite lipstick or lipgloss. *This is not a lip filler service, nor are injections performed. This service implants pigment onto the top layer of the lips for a lip tint effect or a natural flush of color to the lips. Photos are required prior to booking as this is an introductory service & not all cases may be accepted to be performed. PLEASE EMAIL PHOTOS OF YOUR BARE LIPS (NO MAKEUP OR FILTERS) TO: INFO@ICONICINKHOUSTON.COM FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO BOOKING. Please read the following to determine if you are a candidate for lip blush You are NOT a candidate for lip blush if you are: -Pregnant -Breastfeeding -Active Smoker -Have cancer or are undergoing chemotherapy / radiation -Using steroid medication such as Cortisone, Accutane, Retin-A or Renova (must be avoided 2 months prior to booking). -Open wounds on or around lips -Extremely aged or wrinkled skin -Bacterial / viral infection or cold / flu symptoms -Had a recent chemical peel -Prone to hypertrophic scarring or keloids *Filler and Botox in and around the lips must be avoided at least 4 weeks prior to booking. *If you have recently had the COVID vaccine, please wait at least 4 weeks to book your appointment. COLD SORES Cold sores are a risk of lip blush tattoo ONLY if you have had them in the past or if the virus lies dormant in your body. If you have had a cold sore in the past, we advise the client to take an anti-viral medication prior to any lip blush procedure as a preventative measure, as implanting pigment into the lips will typically stimulate a cold sore outbreak. Lip Blush cannot GIVE you HSV-1 but it can cause enough stress on your system to cause the dormant virus to awaken. Anti-viral medication must be prescribed by your doctor and must be taken 4 days before, the day of your procedure, and 4 days following your procedure if you have Herpes Simplex I or have been exposed. Please see lip blush tab for additional information regarding service and healing expectations.
